Consolidation on Present Scenario of UESI-TN GCR based on feedback gathered at the SU campsite

Needs at the Grass roots level Students Ministry:

• Need to regularize and strengthen the time of fellowship on a regular basis ensuring that student-graduate interaction takes place. We need to be regular to fellowships and fasting prayers.
• Need to help student leaders by mentoring them personally.
• Need to encourage students to write real life incidents and success stories. This will encourage and impact students who read Madras Link.
• Need to pray for student leaders and the student ministry specifically. Need to nurture students by continual and systematic teaching of the Word of God. Need to attend Personal prayers, EGF meetings, and regular fellowships.
• Need to set up libraries in each area so students will be able to access and read good spiritual books.
• Need to give personal care by visiting students at their homes and hostels. This is the need of the hour.
• Need to identify the ‘real needs’ of the students. This will result in a radical change in our sessions and programs. We need to talk on priorities, relationships, and excelling in studies.
• Need to give clarity on roles and responsibilities of committee members and graduate leaders.
• Need to bring out ‘relevant’ tracts and handouts for Personal evangelism as well as teaching.

Needs for Graduates Ministry

• Need to strengthen area fellowships, prayer cells, and home cells by meeting regularly and periodically.
• Need to teach and foster “interest groups” on cell care, personal visits, music, mentoring, and planning of camps and retreats.
• Need to help our graduates overcome their multiple pressures by using SWOT analysis.
• Need to have regular ‘quality’ teaching and sharing in the EGF cells. A person who attends must come away having learnt something!
• Need to care for our graduates and support them. This will result in them involving in the ministry regularly.
• Need to help our graduates realize that their every sacrifice is an eternal investment in the lives of our student leaders.
• Need to man our graduate and student committees with people who are gifted to that particular role. This will ensure maximum returns from that committee.

3.. Need to Explore new avenues of ministry:

• Need to reach out to day scholar students who are residing in Chennai, visit their families, and build up rapport. These students will stay on in our city and continue as productive graduates.
• Need to explore various avenues and opportunities to partner with churches and like-minded organizations. EU is para-church and needs to work hand-in-hand with the church.
• Need to study in detail the various student trends and give valuable inputs to enable us to form new strategies in reaching them for Christ.
